It's been a long, cold winter here in PA, and I am always so happy to see the first flowers of spring.
In my yard, the crocus is always the first to bloom. Long before the daffodils or tulips even think about coming up, and sometimes even through a layer of snow, this sweet, cheerful (tenacious) little flower just seems to say, "Welcome, spring!
